QSI’s graphical tooth charting and treatment planning module is the first step to effectively automating your clinical information. Our “chartless” office solution will improve your chart accuracy, increase provider productivity, and take your practice closer to a true paperless environment.
This module is very user-friendly. The intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) supports various data entry methods, including light pen, mouse, and keyboard. Also, our on-line tooth chart was designed to closely resemble traditional paper charts, thereby eliminating the need for extensive provider training and increasing provider acceptance of the paperless format.
Rapid-entry Tooth
Charting
Various customization options are built
into QSI’s charting program to make data entry quick and simple, allowing
the dentist and assistant to continue working at their normal pace.
For example, charts are completed on-line using customizable “quick pick
palettes.” A “palette” is a set of buttons that represent common
and specialty-specific dental procedures. To facilitate quick input,
these palettes can be set up to represent different regions, practices,
specialties, or individual providers. Client-defined colors are used
to differentiate between existing dental work, completed procedures, and
planned treatments, and make patient charts easy to review. With
a few clicks of the mouse, an accurate patient chart is completed and stored
on-line for future reference.
Comprehensive
Patient History
The Clinical Product Suite features a
complete, on-line patient history. Visits, procedures, digital images
and doctor notes are all stored in the electronic patient chart in chronological
order. A simple click of the mouse opens detailed information for
each line item without the need to shuffle through thick paper files.
Also, a complete tooth history, including images, can be easily displayed
by clicking on a particular tooth directly from the chart.
Doctor Notes
Doctor notes can be text, drawings, or
audio clips. Each note is conveniently stored as a separate line
item in a patient history file. Client-defined colors can be used
to categorize text notes, such as medical alerts, conditions to watch closely,
or provider-specific comments. The optional, audio-enabled doctor
notes offer an efficient alternative to providers who prefer dictation
over keyed entries.
The “Chartless”
Office
Immediate access to all treatment data,
doctor notes and medical alerts improves chart accuracy and reduces the
possibility of clinical errors, such as drug interactions and allergic
reactions. The electronic chart also eliminates staff and provider
time spent thumbing through lengthy paper files and searching for lost
charts. In addition, old paper documents and historical X-ray information
can be scanned into the QSI Clinical Product Suite, reducing storage space
and other file maintenance expenses.
Graphical Treatment
Planning
To increase acceptance of proposed treatments,
planned procedures entered during an exam are displayed with associated
costs. For accuracy, fee schedule data is taken directly from the
insurance file on the QSI System. The provider,
treatment counselor, or front desk can quickly review remaining insurance
benefits and schedule planned procedures while the patient is still on-site.
Integration with
QSI Practice Management System
To speed the flow of data throughout your
busy offices and to reduce the possibility of transcription errors, completed
and planned procedures entered at the graphical tooth chart are instantly
transferred to the QSI billing system. Automatic
transmission of procedural data eliminates duplicate data entry and enables
the front desk to quickly schedule planned procedures and print walk-out
statements. Patient satisfaction will also improve as less time is
spent dealing with paper and more time is dedicated to patient treatment.
Patient Correspondence
Treatment proposals, patient report cards,
comparison graphs and various other outputs are generated by the system
to further educate your patients and stress the importance of dental health.
Professional print-outs reinforce what has already been communicated by
the provider and remind patients of their role in maintaining long-term
dental health.
