Texas-based
MSO to Implement MicroMed's NextGenEMR and NextGenWEB
HORSHAM,
Pa. MicroMed Healthcare Information Systems, a division
of Quality Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:QSII - news) and the result of
a combination of Clinitec International, Inc. and MicroMed Healthcare
Information Systems, Inc., announced today an agreement with Impel
Management Services, L.L.C. (Impel).
Under
the agreement, Impel will implement NextGen at the Medical Clinic
of North Texas, P.A. (MCNT), the first of several Impel managed
practices to receive MicroMed's NextGenEMR and NextGenWEB.
"The
software contained more functionality than any other product we
researched," said Mike Yerrid, Impel's Chief Information Officer.
Impel
Management Services is an MSO (management service organization)
that provides physician practices with a full range of management
services including information systems, billing and collecting,
accounting, medical management, contracting, human resources,
staffing and practice management. Impel also provides billing
and information systems to eight other physician practices (besides
MCNT) comprised of 25 Family Practice, Endocrinology, Internal
Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology providers.
Yerrid
added, "We chose the NextGenEMR for several reasons. The flexibility
of the software lets us be in control of how we utilize the product
and allows us to modify our use of the EMR, as future business
needs dictate.
"Additionally,
we believe that MicroMed has an excellent functional and technological
vision for the future of EMR integration in the physician office
setting and has the financial stability to be our business partner
for many years to come."
Impel
was formed in January 1995. Since that time, Impel's primary client,
MCNT, has grown from 20 physicians in 5 locations to 51 physicians
and 9 PA/NPs in 17 locations throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth
Area. MCNT has physicians specializing in Internal Medicine, Obstetrics
and Gynecology, Family Practice and Pediatrics. As MCNT has grown,
so has Impel. Impel currently has over 300 employees providing
MCNT and other clients its full complement of services.
MicroMed's
president, Patrick Cline commented, "We're delighted with Impel's
selection of NextGen. Our products are well suited to forward-thinking,
high-growth organizations committed to top quality care."
