(NASDAQ:QSII) announced the practice-wide implementation of it�s paperless patient records system at Creative Dimensions in Dentistry located in Castro Valley, CA and Family Dental Group located in Forest Hills, MD. These implementations are a part of the QSI-FI (Future: Innovated) product initiative designed to provide dental offices with next-generation functionality through new technology.

Creative Dimensions and Family Dental now utilize electronic charts for all patients, to view x-rays, review patient records, update treatment plans and process treatment and billing data which is captured via use of speech recognition software and/or touch screen monitors (wireless version available) located in treatment areas. Patient x-rays are captured using digital radiography technology. These tools allow practices to reduce staffing expense, reduce the cost of developing/handling/storing x-rays and materially decrease patient radiation exposure. The reduced need to store paper records enables conversion of former storage areas to revenue-generating patient treatment areas.

The QSI-FI initiative offers practices the opportunity to implement a paperless clinical environment along with a paperless administrative environment. Practices can elect to implement a full menu of paperless services or, alternatively, can selectively adopt individual elements of the program. Available paperless administrative offerings include office-based appointment scheduling and billing functions, patient-generated appointment scheduling, the ability to review treatment options, view patient educational information, and the capability for patients to pay their outstanding bills via the internet with 24 x 7 access.
