Zeiss'
Humphrey Systems Partners with MicroMed to Provide Information
Solutions for Eye Care Practices MicroMed's NextGen(R)
to Integrate With Humphrey's New Ensemble(R) Product
HORSHAM, Pa., Apr 30, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) MicroMed Healthcare
Information Systems Inc., a division of Quality Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:QSII),
announced an alliance with Zeiss Humphrey Systems today at the
American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS) meeting
in San Diego.
Under the agreement, Zeiss Humphrey and MicroMed will integrate
Zeiss' Ensemble product with NextGen EPM and NextGen EMR, MicroMed's
practice management and electronic medical records systems. In
addition to other specialty, multi-specialty and primary care
practices, NextGen is currently installed in the offices of hundreds
of eye care professionals.
Ensemble(R) is designed to enable more efficient clinical analysis
and decision-making and to facilitate a more comprehensive ophthalmic
diagnosis and treatment plan. Ensemble aggregates diagnostic data
from multiple instruments such as the Humphrey(R) Field Analyzer
and ATLAS(TM) Corneal Topographer into one database. The software
suite then provides full analysis protocol processing and unique
data presentations, allowing eye care professionals to better
track disease progression and treatment over time.
MicroMed will offer the integrated products through its national
sales force, and Zeiss Humphrey will contribute marketing support.
Attractive pricing for the integrated solution may also be provided
when it is purchased in conjunction with certain Zeiss Humphrey
products.
