MicroMed Division to Launch NextGen PDA Pocket PC-based Solution
for Physicians
TUSTIN,
Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2001--Quality Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:QSII
- news) today announced that its MicroMed division will launch
a suite of applications designed for the Pocket PC platform, called
NextGen PDA.
MicroMed
will be previewing NextGen PDA at the HIMSS Conference and Exhibition
this week in New Orleans. The product is targeted for general
release during the second quarter of 2001. NextGen PDA is designed
to operate on palm-sized Pocket PCs like the Compaq iPAQ and the
Casio E-125.
NextGen
PDA is aimed at those health-care providers who value the convenience
and portability of hand-held devices, and who require integration
of a broad range of practice functions in a single unit. Under
development for two years, NextGen PDA will include:

PDA will fully integrate with MicroMed's NextGen electronic medical
record (EMR) and enterprise practice management (EPM) suites,
and will be available through subscription on a per-user, per-month
basis.
