NextGen Healthcare Partners with North Carolina Pediatric Associates for Deployment of Single Sign-on Solution
Pediatric practice seeks to improve operational efficiency and
further advance patient care
HORSHAM, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
NextGen
Healthcare Information Systems, LLC., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality
Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) and leading provider of healthcare
information systems and connectivity solutions, announced today an
agreement with North Carolina Pediatric Associates to deploy NextGen®
Ambulatory EHR, NextGen®
Practice Management and NextGen®
Patient Portal across its enterprise.
Having outgrown the functionality of its existing system, North Carolina
Pediatric Associates required an integrated platform built on a single
database to meet its specialty specific needs. Under the agreement,
North Carolina Pediatric Associates will leverage NextGen solutions
across its four North Carolina practice locations to streamline business
processes, increase practice efficiencies and assist in the delivery of
outcome-based patient care. Additionally, the integration of the NextGen
Patient Portal will facilitate effective electronic communication and
clinical data exchange between physicians and patients, helping the
organization meet the Meaningful Use (MU) Stage 2 criteria for engaging
patients and families in their healthcare.
This agreement will provide North Carolina Pediatric Associates with the
necessary technology for meeting its specialty-specific needs, as well
as reform initiatives such as the transition to ICD-10 and MU Stage 2,
while also delivering enhanced access to patient data and appointment
scheduling, improved flexibility to handle high patient volumes,
streamlined workflow and more comprehensive claims management
capabilities.
"We initially looked at NextGen in an effort to find a better practice
management system, but what we found was a better system all together;
that's ready for both ICD-10 and MU Stage 2. The system provides
everything we need in one database with one login, making integration
between clinical and administrative workflow much easier and reporting
more comprehensive than through other systems with separate databases,"
said Dr. Cornelius F. Cathcart, president and owner of North Carolina
Pediatric Associates. "The ability to exchange data across our
enterprise in real-time will not only help us streamline our
administrative workflow, but will also facilitate an environment for
improved quality of care for our patients. Most importantly, it frees us
up as physicians so we can focus on what we do best - take care of
patients."
"The unique health needs of children and adolescents differ
substantially from those of adults. As such, pediatric specialty
providers require solutions designed to meet their specific needs while
enabling them to optimize the patient experience and more effectively
coordinate care," said Michael Lovett, executive vice president and
general manager for NextGen Healthcare. "Our collaboration with North
Carolina Pediatric Associates demonstrates the value and breadth of our
solution, which has the capability to cater to more than 25 types of
specialty providers that leverage our technology to improve patient
outcomes."
